- Background
Notes - Background Notes are brief informational reports on a
country. These are also available in our Reference Collection (REF G 59
U5).
- World
Factbook - prepared by the Central Intelligence Agency. Provides a
simple map, and basic infomation on the geography, people, economy and
government of every country in the world. The CIA World Factbook is
available at our library in paper (REF G 122 W56), and Government
Documents CD-ROM (PrEx 3.15/2:)
- Country Studies -
prepared by the Federal Research Division of the Library of Congress
under the Country Studies/Area Handbook Program sponsored by the
Department of the Army. Provides in depth information on a country
focusing on history, culture, economy, and current national security
situation. Approximately 100 countries are currently available online.
The paper versions are available in our General Collection cataloged
according to country.
