Student Employee Handbook Letter to Students
We, the students of Skidmore College, operating under the authority granted by the Board of Trustees, unite in the formation of the Skidmore College Student Government Association (SGA). Our purpose, with full realization of the responsibilities inherent in membership, is to establish and maintain conditions of student life conducive to good scholarship, intelligent citizenship, benevolent service, and individual growth. To achieve these goals all students and student organizations secure the freedom to examine, discuss, and decide matters of student life in the spirit of cooperation and mutual understanding of institutional policy. This Association is based upon the pursuit and attainment of knowledge and truth and to these ends students are expected to be exemplars of academic and social integrity. ~ SGA Constitution Preamble ~
SGA is composed of six divisions:
Academic Affairs, Residential Affairs, Communications, Budget and Finance, Clubs and Organizations, and Diversity Affairs. Each division works in concert with the other to enhance the quality of student life and the state of Skidmore College.
