No matter your proficiency level, there are many pathways for studying French at Skidmore. You can immerse yourself in the major or minor, or pair French with other academic interests.

What will you learn?

Our elementary and intermediate courses steadily build language skills and confidence, while our upper-level electives develop proficiency through advanced language study and topics courses. In addition to a French major and minor, Skidmore offers interdepartmental majors connecting French with business or political science.

Where will you go?

Graduates have leveraged their French proficiency in education, international exchange, cultural organizations, health services, community engagement, arts and media, and more. The examples below highlight just a few of the paths Skidmore alumni have pursued after graduation.
